Terms & Conditions

Thank you for trusting me with your special occasions! To maintain the highest quality and guarantee your date on my calendar, I operate under the following guidelines. Please take a moment to review my policies on deposits, design approvals, and order collection before placing your order.

1. Booking, Payment, & Quotes

  • Quote Validity: Quotes are valid for 3 calendar days. Prices and availability are subject to change after that period.

  • Booking Confirmation: Submitting an inquiry or quote form does not confirm booking or reserve your event date. Orders are only officially booked on the calendar once 100% full payment is received.

  • Payment Terms: Full payment is required upon quote approval to secure your date. Submitting a form or holding a quote does not reserve your date on my schedule.

  • Rush Orders: Orders placed with less than 7 days' notice require immediate full payment upon approval and are subject to availability and a rush fee

  • Payment Methods: Payment is accepted via Square. Payment instructions will be provided upon quote approval.

2. Refunds, Cancellations, & Order Changes

  • Retainer & Cancellation Policy: Because custom orders require early prep and date reservation, 50% of your total payment acts as a non-refundable retainer.

  • Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the event date will receive a 50% refund of the total order amount.

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the event date are completely non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling: All payments are non-transferable. Rescheduling is treated as a cancellation subject to the terms above.

  • Order Modifications: No changes (design, quantity, flavor, etc.) will be accepted within 7 days of the event date.

3. Pickup, Delivery, & Logistics

  • Home Bakery Pickups: All pickups take place from my home bakery (address provided once your order is ready). Please respect that this is a private place of business.

  • Pickup Windows & Rescheduling: A specific pickup time window (typically 1 to 1.5 hours) will be assigned. A reminder message will be sent the day before. If you cannot make your scheduled time, you must notify me at least 3 hours in advance to arrange a new time (subject to availability).

  • Missed Pickups: If you do not arrive within your scheduled window and fail to communicate, your order may be resold, donated, or discarded. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed pickups.

  • Delivery: Clients are responsible for prompt pickup or coordinating delivery in advance (delivery fees apply).

4. Transport, Storage, & Venue Requirements

  • Transport Responsibility: Once an order is picked up or delivered, Confectionate Layers ATX is completely released from liability for any subsequent damage or condition of the item.

  • Vehicle Transport Rules: All items (especially tiered cakes, decorated cookies, and French macarons) must be transported on a flat, level surface—such as the floorboard of an air-conditioned vehicle. Never transport baked goods on car seats or in laps.

  • Temperature & Venue Setup: Products must be stored and displayed in a climate-controlled environment no warmer than 72°F. A sturdy, level table/surface must be provided. For outdoor setups, proper covered shade and stable conditions are strictly required. Confectionate Layers ATX reserves the right to refuse setup in unsafe or unsuitable conditions.

5. Design & Tasting Policy

  • Design Previews: Design previews, sketches, or mockups are not provided prior to or following order confirmation for any inquiries or orders. Final designs are crafted based on agreed-upon inspiration, color palettes, and themes discussed during the quote process.

  • Tastings: Complimentary tastings are not offered. All original recipes are tested, perfected, and crafted for consistent quality.

6. Allergens & Cottage Food Notice

  • Texas Cottage Law Notice: All products are produced in a home kitchen not subject to inspection by the Department of State Health Services or a local health department.

  • Allergen Disclaimer: Products contain or may come into contact with common allergens, including milk, eggs, nuts, soy, wheat, and others. It is the client's responsibility to inform their guests of potential allergens. Confectionate Layers ATX is not liable for allergic reactions.

7. Photos & Marketing

  • Media Release: Confectionate Layers ATX reserves the right to photograph and video all products and use these images for marketing, portfolio, website, and social media promotional materials.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: These Terms & Conditions apply strictly to Personal Orders. They do NOT apply to Corporate, Public, or Community Events. Custom agreements, lead times, payment schedules, and terms will be provided separately for all corporate, public, and community bookings upon receipt of inquiry.
